Mode Developments

StrongED modes created or modified by Timebus are headed below in alphabetical order.

To install customised modes, copy them into

!StrED_cfg.UserPrefs.Modes

where they will then take precedence over any default modes inside !StrongED.

INI

A new mode for .ini files as used on Windows and by php.ini, for example, we created in 2021.

StrongHTML

Download latest version of this mode from the official StrongED web site
Download StrongHelp component for the HTML Named Characters StrongHTML manual which allows insertion of named characters via links, version 2.4 updated 2020-06-05 for HTML5 (but only for characters which can also be displayed from the Latin1 character set of RISC OS fonts).

VBScript

XML

This was a modified mode done in 2010 as a cludge to quickly see some basic content in Microsoft Word .docx files by imperfectly converting the internal XML file to HTML using a special function called 'DOCX add HTML tags'. It did not make it into the official release on the StrongED web site.
